Finally, my last training is over le~! haha. If my enlistment is on a Sunday, then maybe still can go for one more training. But then again, it's on a Friday. So 7 July is like the last training which I'm attending with my hair.

Please see below for my speech (or rather, my hair's);

Dear all KSJ fellow members,

Fully knowing that 7 July would be my last day here as a member of the KSJ family (with my hair), I would like to thank the following people;

Firstly, Sir Derrick; thanks for being such a good boss all these years; the things that you've taught and the words that you say always come as a timely advice, be it with regards to professional or personal matters.

Secondly, Ms Tan; thanks for being a caring CCA TIC all these years. I think you've been with us for a very long time too. I always remembered how u always scolded Brandon when we were in school. We can always talk to you whenever we have any problems. haha. Also, thanks remembering us whenever you go overseas. You've never failed to buy something back for us.

Then I remember there was only once when u lost your temper. During our Sec One’s Combined Uniform Group Camp. Some stupid people had dumped a full-pack of food away. Then we were at the campsite’s hall. You spoke over the microphone. I remember the exact words. After you said some one had thrown food away. “You will now pay the price for it.”

Then Sir Hung took over. Then die. Haha. 500 push-ups, then commando crawls and then a lot of other things. Haha.

Thirdly, Ms Ratna; thanks for being such a cool teacher! haha. She's like the big sister of mine in KSJ. hehe. Ever since when I was in Secondary School, she's always been like that de la. haha. come into the class will greet you, "Ok, Good Morning, Darlings". hehe. Cool right. which teacher will greet you like that. Also, she's never really given me much pressure on the newsletter la. So I have quite a lot of freedom in deciding the things. hehe.

Next, Ms Ang; though I don’t have much dealings with Ms Ang in KSJ, I think she’s also quite a motherly figure ba and the cadets will like. Haha. Mmm~ Maybe hope to carry out projects for KSJ with her, so can know her better.

Fifth, Ms Vanitha; latest addition to the fleet! Hehe. Thanks for all that you have done for us, especially for the POP Day. If without you, I think we’ll never get the logistics done by Mr Loh. Haha. Oh yes, thanks Mr Loh also. Haha. Coming back, I think you’ve joined us at a very good time. Because KSJ is entering into a “Huat Ar!” Era. So you can actually see how good our Corps is improving. Hehe. There’s just so many things of KSJ that you’ll get to love.

Next, to Sec 4s aka (S4/07) haha. These people are really damn one kind. Each has got a characteristic of their own. Dunno how to say, so better dun say. Coming back, I hope everyone of you can go for officer course and then come back and help ba. KSJ is really in need of people. Officers, rather. Cadets also ba. Come back and then u can help us in the recruitment drive to recruit more people lo. Hehe. So we can 干掉 NCC, NPCC, probably badminton also.

Haha. Also, how can I forget our “retired” CSM, Christine, the big sister to all the juniors in KSJ. Thanks for upkeeping the Corps’s standard and always pushing the cadets to achieve their best. I know it wasn’t an easy task to be the CSM, but u have certainly done well in your term; together with the other NCOs. Thanks Sec 4s.

Seventh, Sec 3s aka (S3/07). This is the batch which I have the most contact with la. Ever since when they were in Sec One, I still remember taking them for Footdrill lo. Use the drill cane to scare them. Haha. “If you dun march in one straight line, I’ll whack you!” Then I’ll swing the dummy drill cane. Haha. Well, well. It seems like it has worked well what. Haha. After that, then I became the AC Team in-charge then didn’t get to come into contact with the Sec 3 batch as a whole so much le.

Ok, don’t say I bias ah… I have quite a lot to say to the Sec 3s… Firstly, is the new CSM… Ms Chua Simin; please continue to upkeep the standards that your predecessors have set and continue to bring the Corps to the next higher level of achievement. It’s going to be tough, but the results at the end will be worthwhile. Seeing the efforts that you have put in for KSJ all these years, I won’t need to say too much. Those with eyes can see your performance and the results that you have produced.

Next, to Cheung Weng, Hope you don’t get fed up with me for pushing you during the whole period of the FAC Training. I’m just doing my job and I know you’ve been trying your best to screw the boys too. Even when you don’t succeed all the time in instilling discipline into them, that’s life. You’ve got to get things done, so you’ve got to get the act together and do it. Be more firm in the way you talk to cadets. Don’t always take things into you own hands and do it yourself. Distribute the work. Anyway, you’ve got to worry about who to pass your position to next. Give others a chance to help you; especially the juniors.

Next, to Yong Ting. You’ve always been a good assistant to Cheung Weng during the FAC Period. I hope next year you’ll be able to lead your own team to participate in the FAC competition. You also smile smile smile all the time and do all the things yourself. It’s not a very manly thing to do all the things yourself all the time. Get help if you must.

To May; May ah! When’s my newsletter stuffs coming in?! haha. You’re right. This is my newsletter de designer lo. Haha. Poor May, always kena pushed by me de. But no choice la. Since you’ve taken up this job, have to carry it to the end. That’s what I appreciate about May. The sense of responsibility. I mean, who can tahan you change and change their designs one? Hehe. All the help that you have given makes u an important asset for the committee Thanks, May.

To the rest of the sec threes (Not that you’re not important, but there’s just too many of you!) Aisyah, Amelia, Mariz, Hong Lip, Yan Ying, Jie Ting, Laura, Joey and also the recently just quit de Wan Lin…

Hope you all will continue to progress further. All the best to all of you. Hope u all take care. There’s just so much to say, it’s like seeing all of you grow up from Sec 1 to now, Sec 3 le.. Finally, the responsibility of running the Corps is landing on your shoulders now. 3 stripes are not that easy to wear on your shoulders one, Ok.. haha.

Sec 2s, also the batch which I had most contact with, recently. Good. The eagerness to learn and outshine each other is good. But don’t let the competition destroy your friendship. You make true friends only when you go through tough times and I will be the “tough times”. Haha.

There’s still so much things to learn, so many things to do. The best way to learn is to be Kay-poh. See what your seniors are doing, then ask if you can help. When u help, then u can learn. My advice to you, “Get your hands dirty, before you can learn the skills.”

Thanks for organising the Farewell thing for me, even though personally I have some comments reserved for the card la. Haha. Hope you guys make good ur words, make sure that you all are up to my expectations when I book out, ok? Jia you.

Sec 1s, this is the batch which I still don’t know that much, even though I seem to have the most contact with you all. Footdrill still can improve, the other areas, definitely will be better. Basically, once you’re past the rank of Lance Corporal, the rest will follow on just as well. Put in your best, encourage each other and Jia You together. I can see some of you are getting along quite well with one another. Work with ur buddy and best friends lo. So you can scale greater heights together.
