Once again, I realised the value of life.
"Don't worry, ma'am. Our staff will be assisting you when we pull up at the next station." a voice over the speaker sounded calming. I've heard this before. Someone has pressed the Emergency Button.
Everything seems out of place. "Bukit Batok." Even the familiar voice of the announcer sounded a bit different to me.
The door opens.
So do I go out? Should I? The door kept itself opened. For that split second, I was really wondering.
AH~! Freak it. I took my bag and got out of the train. From a distant I could see people crowding around and that poor fella was gasping for air. The MRT staff didn't tend to him! Instead went to unlock the Emergency button that was depressed. Damn you.
But it wasn't this that irks me.
What irks me is that many people are standing around this guy, whose face is already turning green from the lack of air.
"Sir, please don't worry, I am a qualified first aider. I'm here to help you. Do you have any medicine with you?" He shook his head.
"Ok, don't worry. You'll be fine. Everything's in order. Now, just breathe slowly. Breathe in..." I took a deep breath as I said the words. "Now, breathe out. Relax, sir. You'll be alright."
"Excuse me! Please clear from this area, this gentleman here needs some fresh air! That lady over there! Can you lend me your newspaper?!" I took it over from her, without even her saying yes or no and I opened it up, folded into a square before handing it over to his colleague to fan him.
Luckily the staff arrived and ya.. they took over from there.
