I love it! Whoo hoo!

haha. was supposed to go to Sentosa today, but didn't. hehe. due to poor time management. hehe.

Supposed to meet Sarah at 11.30am cos she wanna buy presents for her brother's birthday on 2 July. Then we went around Vivo, cos we can buy presents for her brother as well as my mum, cos her birthday is today, 30 June 2007. hehe.

So we walked round and round Vivo City, but we can't find the crumpler store that she wanted to find, cos she wanna buy a pouch for her brother. hehe. But in the end... cannot find. I also cannot find anything for my mum.

After that, she suggested that we go get something from Candy Empire. Well, anything that makes her happy. So we went there and then finally saw something that is suitable for my mum. Belgian cookies. FINEST Belgian Cookies. At least, that's what the packaging says. hehe.

Then she suggested we buy some candies together, so we can share share. Ya lo. We share share. hehe. Everything also can share de la. What's mine is also hers. hehe.

Then we walked around for another while, wanna find Haagen-Dazs and then go there and eat. haha. But when we were about to enter the shop, Sarah received a call from her mum. Want her to go to the Raffles City to find her, cos she wanna buy Addidas shoes for Sarah.

So I went along lo, haha. Then we finally reached Raffles City. I was a bit nervous at first, then when we were about to enter, she suddenly look at me and then say "Erm, if you're not ready to see my mum, you might want to walk around first, I'll give you a call when I'm done?"

Then I stunned. haha. Like meeting the parent session. hehe.

Then I looked at myself, wearing jersey, shorts and sandals. Really is the most inappropriate attire to meet your prospective mother-in-law. So I decided to say "Well, I'm afraid your mum won't allow you to come out with me again if she sees me like that. I better walk around first."

Hehe. So I walked around lo.

She didn't take very long ba. It took only a while for her to call me back. Only walked one round and she called me le. hehe.

So we walked around again, finding presents and stuffs. But cannot find the crumpler store. Then we decided that maybe we should give up le ba. haha. So we went to the Ben & Jerry's place, then she just went in and went to the couple seat straight away. haha. It wasn't like there was no other place to seat lo. hehe.

It isn't technically a couple seat la. But it was a two-seater sofa lo. At least it looked like it is meant for couples. hehe. That place is really very cool. Directly in front is the fountain already. Ben & Jerry's the place for me! hehe.

Anyway, ordered the Mango Sorbet, Cherry Sorbet and Sarah's favourite, the "Cookies 'N' Creme". I also ordered one Oreo Cheesecake. =P Spent about $20 in total. hehe.

But it's ok la. We enjoyed it. Then when we sat down and looked up, there it was, the crumpler store. haha. But there's not much time to go there already le la. Quite late le. hehe.

Then she suddenly say wanna buy a card for my mum. =)

hehe. Really like a couple already. hehe. Damn happy. She's actually thinking about making my mum happy. haha. Ok. So we went to MPH (Very funny, she say go Crumpler store no time, can still go to MPH to buy birthday card?! o.O)

hehe. But then in the end, she chose a few cards for me to choose la. But then she suddenly realise that I'm colourblind. hehe. Then she like immediately picked out one card and say "Na! This one! I bet she'll like it!"

And this one! Before I knew it, she pulled out another one of those fanciful paper bags that was hanging from the holder. It'll go well with the cookies!

Ok, let me go make the payment.

"No la, let me do it. Mmm~ Take it that it's a present for aunty lo." *Killer smile.

Ok. I mean, there's nothing much that I can really do right. I think mum will be happy to receive this birthday card as well as my present ba. =)

Then she also wrote on the card lo~! Whoa sei. really like my girlfriend. hehe. so happy.

Then after that, sent her back to Harbourfront, didn't manage to send her to Sentosa, partly because she didn't wanted me to, but also because I had to go back.

In case you're wondering why she's going to Sentosa, she's not staying there. But she's working there. At one of the restaurants.

So many things happened in the last two weeks, can vaguely remember some of the things I did, I think they are;

Let me just highlight some of the things.

POP Practice - I don't really remember what are the happenings. But there's one incident I remember very clearly. Very funny. I was teaching the Sec 2s and Sec 1s about the "Bersu Rai!" Command.

The instructions were "If there is a flag, you'll salute once. Then if the commander is an officer, you salute again. Clear?"

They said, "Yes."

I replied, "Ok, let's practise to see if u really understand."

Then I give the command, they salute twice. Can die.

I asked "Am I officer?"

Then no reply. haha.

Then I ask again, "Am I officer?"

Then they say very softly... "No, Sir." haha. Damn funny. Call me "Sir", but I'm not officer. haha. I think my position in KSJ is very weird. Neither up nor down. Like the Sergeant in the army. Screw people, then the top people also screw up. damn jia lat. RSM is really a tough job.

Some more my role is those type of "Bao Ga Liao" RSM. Public Relations (PR) stuffs like speech-writing, newsletter, I also do. Discipline wise, I also do. haha. Two very different extremities, but I'm coping fine. Or maybe it looks fine, at least. In PR, image is very important. haha.

POP 2007 - Congrats to all who has got promoted and passed out. Thanks for all the things that you have done for us, the KSJ family. We'll remember you.

As Sir Derrick has mentioned before. The OTC would be next on the list for those who wants to come back and help. Ya, so please go for it. Don't ask me why I didn't go. I just didn't wanted to.

There are many things in life which we want to pursue. Maybe you might not want to commit urself first. But maybe u can come back as a senior NCO to help out first. Then maybe one day u might just want to go for the OTC. Well, u never know.

Coming back, The POP went on quite smoothly except for some screws-up here and there, but it's ok, I think Mr Kong, the GOH, didn't see it. After that, the cadets went up to the AVA room for "Ceremony" stuffs and performances.

Then Sir Derrick and Mr Kong was at the foyer talking. Can see that Mr Kong is quite impressed with KSJ. (Of course.) Well, the efforts that went into making this successful, was from none other than every single one of KSJ members la. It's supposed to be like a family celebration event.

After that we played games and then was running all over the schools, looking for envelopes and clues. Haha. Didn't actually get the game at first, because we found the other group's envelopes and then actually following their clues -_-'

Then Geraldine was like "Erm, why u all go and take other's clues?"

Ok, WA LAO!! WHY U ALL NEVER EXPLAIN EARLIER?!?!?!?!

So we put back all the envelopes. Then we ran and ran again, can't really remember what we did, but we were the first to reach the last station, the fitness corner. Then they say must do Pull-up. Sian.

I only managed to do 6. haha. One more to attain Silver. But didn't want to do that much la. YongTing did 5. So we got 11 already. Ya, the required number was only 10. haha. Act Strong.

Then have to to log-raise, then lucky dun need to do Sit-up, just jump on top of the thing and then run over. Then do monkey bar, then do the body flip on the incline pull-up bar, then step on top of the individual logs and jump off the last one.

*Phew, lucky dun need to climb the Low Wall. haha. Otherwise, We'll all die.

Then.. Yeah! We were the first to finish the thing. Then got 5 bonus points. hehe. Then in the end, Tie with Ken's Group. Didn't really know what the prize was, just pass to Wei Ting and then ask her to distribute. Group 4 rocks, alright.

Not bad. I think even the Sec one Boy in our team, I think his name is Hon Man. Also quite sporting. Even though run until cannot run liao, still continue to jog a bit to catch up with us. See, we don't have officers, also can win the race. haha.

I hope to the juniors, it would be like seeing their elder brothers and sisters graduating from the KSJ Family. Also, I hope that they can use this as a form of inspiration for them. So that they will work hard.

The challenge for the cadets (Officers and Senior NCOs as well) is to make sure that the Corps continue to prosper with the new blood. Therefore, new knowledge has to continuous be drilled into the minds of the cadets.

I personally feel that during Sec One, it is more important to impart knowledge, not so much on the screwing. Of course, along the way, we make sure that they still maintain a certain level of discipline. A large part of the screwing can be left till about Sec two then we screw them. That's when we fine-tune their skills and knowledge.

By Sec three, of course, they will be invincible, or so, I hope.

SJ Day 2007

The alram clock rang at such an unusual timing, that I thought it was malfunctioning.

In fact, it wasn't.

It's been a really long time ever since I last woke up at 5.30am in the morning. Then did my preparations and took my bag, bid my mum and dad goodbye, before I stepped out of the house at 5.55am. I knew I was going to be late, but hell.

Reached CCK at about 6.10, Ken was already waiting there. Ok, sorry Ken.

Then we went to school, everyone was there in Full-U, getting ready for the big day. Then some of the late comers also joined us. Then we did sizing, Size already then discover that actually Yong Ting and Cheung Weng dun need to be the flag bearer.

But nevertheless, didn't do much adjustments to fit them into the squad. Heng Sia.

The squad was ready by about 6.30.

Then Ken gave the signal to "warm-up" the squad and our new CSM did 8 "Ke-kanan Pusing"s in one shot. Hai~ CSM ah CSM. Warm-up got many things can do one ma. haha.

But I dun blame her la. First time do such big things ma. Then it's quite ok la. Didn't have any screws-up, but only got one question. "Do you really have to shout into the Microphone?"

Haha. *Faint.

It's ok. As I said, First-timers, can forgive.

After that, took a Corps Photo at the Foyer, finally understood why Kranji, from a "not-so-neighbourhood Neighbourhood School", became a "Very-much-neighbourhood Neighbourhood School". But I shall not comment it here.

The problematic students in the school are increasing in numbers and they are indeed, problematic. I really pity the teachers. Vindictive students will never change.

Just some random writings:

Why? Why? Why do some people always get the things they want, while some, have to part with what they never had in the first place. Why..?

As he carefully lifts his legs off the bed, he also flip the blanket that had covered him and his wife. It’s 3am in the morning and it’s drizzling outside. His uniform hung on the handle of the wardrobe, almost as if reminding him of the responsibility that comes along with the rank. This would be the last time that he’ll be waking up from this bed and he knew it.

His wife, awakened by the movement, looked deeply at him. “What’s wrong, My Lord?”

“Nothing, my dear. Nothing.” He said, as he walked out of bed and towards the balcony.

He lit up his cigarette. Even the taste of the cigarette seems to be extraordinarily fragrant tonight. He watched the quiet city as he slowly puffed away.

His wife walked over and gently wrapped her arms around his waist. “My Lord, do you really have to go?”

He gently took the last puff and dropped the unfinished cigarette from the balcony. He heaved a silent sigh and turned around. “My dear. Some things are beyond my control. But this time, I chose to go this path. Let me fulfil my duty as a soldier. I promise, I’ll be back to join you with our little ones.”

Tears flowed down her cheeks; for she knows better than anyone else, how brutal those killing machines can be. The bodies of her father and brother had been horribly tore up into pieces – by hand – right before her eyes.

“My Dear, shall I not return tomorrow, tell our children how their fathers died.”

“I shall watch over you in heaven.” With that, he tucked her in his arms and ended the brief conversation with a kiss to her forehead.

B-sized batteries lighted up our trip to KL! Whoo~!

Day 1
So the much anticipated and hype surrounded the mystery KL trip for the SinMal FAC 2007, finally took place on the 9th to 11th June 2007.

It was quite a long way from Singapore to Malaysia, or rather, Kuala Lumpur to be exact.

We went to Kenneth's house on Friday, 8th June 2007, then stayed over at his house, cos his dad's driving us to the HQ early in the morning the next day. Thanks, Uncle!

Then reached HQ at about 6. Still a bit in a daze and I think we missed some flag handing over ceremony or something. Then checked the Bus number which we are supposed to be on. (The bus number printed and the actual bus number all different one lor. Cock up) haha.

Then boarded the bus and left the HQ at about 6.30 or something. Can't remember. Then we took the bus to the second link.

The people on the bus are like, erm... quite "Lao" one la. haha. It's like almost everywhere also got old people on the bus. haha. Mah was sitting beside me and Ken was like on my left, sitting behind Mr Chua Wee Guang. haha. Ok, will tell the story of Mr Chua next time.

Then Ai Suan and Ma'am Huixin was sitting behind me and then got Sir Derrick also sitting behind Kenneth.

The first stopover was at this place called "Yong Ping". It's really like a "professional" stopover one la. Got food, petrol station, toilet, local products, etc. It's like really is for stopover one. Nothing much there. haha.

But have to admit she is quite pretty. But she really is not my cup of tea. Erm.. I mean in all sense of the words. Anyway, there's nothing much to worry about. So we ate the "Char Kway" and realised that it's purely for "Filling stomachs" only. Cos it has no taste. Very bland. Haha.

Then everybody was like spamming the cadies stalls for the Bubble Gum and chewing gum. haha. Nevertheless, only stopped for 20 mins. Then when we boarded the bus, Mah just adjusted back his seat and laid back. Then he sleep liao lei!

Wa lao~ like "睡仙" lei. haha. Hit the seat, can immediately fall asleep one. I also la. haha. Cos the bus trip very long ma, if dun sleep then how? Talk to Mr Chua ah?! haha.

Then finally reached the SJAB Malaysia HQ at about 12 in the afternoon. Then got the SJAB Malaysia people all waiting for us. haha, like president like that. Walk down the bus also got people waiting for you already. haha. Then the people all like very friendly, smile at you and then shake your hands. haha. They dunno I'm only CL. I'm NOT officer. haha.

Damn funny lei. Then we went into the "Hall" of the HQ, got so many people inside. haha.

Then I think we finally saw the "Battery". haha.

Then Mah was like "Ey, we dare Ong la. See whether he dare to go and make friends with the girl anot." Immediately I did a "Virus scan". Then I held up my "cup" of drink on the table and said "Mmm~ 这个杯子不够大" Then everybody laugh laugh laugh. haha.

Then have to wait for them to make a mini speech and all. Then the teams shake hands, introduce one another. Haha. Have to wait for the meal to be ready, so we ate the peanuts that were on the table. I think is "donated" or sponsored by someone de la. Cos the big word "Sample" is on the packaging. haha.

Then we ate and Mah was playing tricks on Kenneth by pulling the certain from the "Hall" then Simin was outside. haha. Ken, dun lie. I know u wanna see her. haha. But it's crazy lei. They make the teams sit ouside (Or rather, the teams chose to sit outside one themselves) It's 12pm in the afternoon lo. wa kao. haha.

Then after lunch, went for the city tour (meanwhile, competitors went to the Kuala Lumpur Badminton Stadium to take a look at their competition ground) brought us to so many places (Please refer to the pics)

Then finally went to the legendary "Hotel" reached at about 3 or 3+. Can't remember. Then Cock up again. Hotel rooms also took very long to figure out. But finally got everything ironed out and proceeded to the room. Then Filled the bath-tub and soaked inside for about 30 mins. Relax sia. haha. Then Ken was like outside watching TV.

Then at night about 6.30, went for dinner at this restaurant on top the Porsche Showroom. Wa lao~ Porsche lei. Dunno when can I buy one.

Anyway, the place is like another "out-of-the-place" place. Like jungle all over, then suddenly pop out on building. But can see the KLCC from there. By the way, KLCC refers to the Petronas Tower. Dunno why it's called KLCC.

Anyway, the dinner wasn't exactly "that nice". It was just filling. Alot of food and they come so fast one lo. Haven't finish, then the next dish all come already. haha.

Then Choon Siong was like "Ey! You really can consider the battery lei!"

then I told him, "The battery is not strong enough to power my "Torch"" haha. But really ma. Dun have feel means dun have feel. Ya la, she pretty la, but not my cup of tea ma. haha.

Then after dinner, it was drizzling and we went to the shopping place at Times Square and Sungei Wang. Oh yes, "Sungei Wang" is the Red Light district in KL! haha. But of course, being there on "Official Trip" we cannot go la. haha.

So the Bus uncle drove us there and dropped us off somewhere near the shopping centre before he was stuck in a jam. Sorry Uncle. haha.

So we went shopping in Times Square. Sir Derrick bought a new pair of jeans. Then he show off lor. haha. Like what. One pair of jeans big ah. haha. Oh yes, we'll always remember the "Big Jeans" joke. haha.

Then I bought a new pair of shoes for my brother from Times Square. haha.So happy sia, finally spent some money. haha.

Then Mah also bought some "couple couple stuffs". haha.

Then this Times Square very special lei. Shopping halfway, got roller-coaster fly past above your head one lei! So cool right. haha. but it was too late for us already, cos by the time we wanna play is already about 10 already. haha.

No choice lor. Walk back in the rain, then halfway through, Ken bought some fishballs and we bought some other stuffs for Supper. Then everyone came to Ken and my room to eat supper lo. It's like they stained my bed can. haha.

I think the room service auntie must be like, "Ey! why is the bed stained ah?" haha.

Mmm~ Each person 2 chicken wings?! Enough! haha. Ya lor. Enough... your head ah. haha. Then Ai Suan had to treat supper the next day. hehe.

Then Derrick Sir said something else that cancelled the deal. Thanks ah, Sir. You caused us to "lose" our supper treat. haha.

Then after that, we played some cards and went to sleep le.


Day 2
Woke up at about 6.30. Then went to eat breakfast. haha. Was in a daze la. But the moment we saw the "Battery" We're like so alive. haha. Then I think took a bit took much, cannot finish. haha. Then we went to back to our room to change and got ready to go to the competitioon ground. haha.

Then we waited outside the Stadium for quite a while before they led us to the spectator stand to sit. Then the Malaysian competitors walked in lo. haha. Damn special. Their girls wear like Safari uniform and pants one lei. Then the guys pretty much the same as Singapore's Ambulance teams.

Whoa~ got a few girls quite pretty lei! haha. But then, I didn't forget my objective in coming la. So Mah was watching the First Aid cases. Kenneth was watching the Home Nursing. Me, of course, was outside watching foot drill. Why only me under the sun! WTF! haha.

They are all in watching the competition and with the air-con one lor! haha. No choice la. Where got people do Footdrill indoors one. haha. But the Malaysian teams really good lei. Their footdrill damn solid. Somemore they speak in Malay to the judges one lei! I heard from my Malaysian colleagues that they have to be good in Malay. Cos in Malaysia, if u fail ur Malay Language (by the way, every student has to take Malay Language in Malaysia. Yes, even when u are Chinese or Indian or whatever), it's as good as failing everything.

Coming Back, Singapore teams got some problems. I also dunno what happened. Commanding got some problems ba. Then the ACC was watching them la. Then the Singaporean NA Team got footdrill commit one error lei. Then the ACC's face black until cannot. haha. then he turned and walk away lo. Wa lao~ dun like that ma. just continue watching la. no need to walk away one ma.

Then after that, the results announcement, NC and NA Team own Malaysia. The NA team that committed the mistake during Footdrill got "Best Footdrill" By the way. I watched all the 8 teams lor(Singapore - NA, NC, AA, AC & also Malaysia NA, NC, AA, AC) . No teams ever committed mistakes. The only team that committed a mistake got the "Best Footdrill". Haha.

Reverse Psychology.

Anyway, went for lunch at the restaurant that provided the cater service at the HQ on the first day. Eat a bit, then Mah said "Ey, I think Malaysia got bird flu hor?!"

I looked down at the 3 big pieces of Chicken on my plate and I was like, "Now then u tell me"

You should have told me just now before I took it ma! Or after I finish eating also can ma! Wa lao. haha.

After that, went outside of the restaurant, to the shops beside it cos Ken wants to buy some flu medicine. After that then discovered the uncle scam him, cos we discovered it's "Panadol Soluble" for general treatment one lo. After that, we went back to the hotel lo.

Then rot for a while. Soak in the bath tub again, Ken also. haha. I mean, separate la. I soak first. Then I got out, then Ken went in. Erm~ I think this doesn't really sound correct too. But anyway...

We decided to go out for Dinner, while the Sing-Ma people went out to eat at the restaurant for some "Thank you dinner" or something. Then we started eating at about 7, at the "Beijing Roast Duck Restaurant that was opposite the Hotel" Thanks to the rain, we got to eat the Roast Duck.

Wa Piang~ It's Damn Freaking nice one, can. haha. Wrap in the Popiah Skin, then the roast duck skin put in between, then add the sauce. Whoa~ Nothing has ever tasted so nice one. haha.

Then we discovered that the bus for the Sing-Ma people is still parked outside. haha. we almost finished the dinner liao, the bus still haven't left the hotel! Haha.

The dishes we ate included "Beijing Roast Duck skin (wrapped in popiah skin and with sauce), then the duck meat fried with cucumber, duck bone soap, then we also order "糖醋炒白菜" and "古老肉" aka sweet and sour pork).

Then we ran back to the hotel. The rain was so heavy. Cos by the time we ran back to the hotel's lobby, which was only one street away, our shirt was soaked with the rain water. Really soaked. And we quickly went back to the Hotel and took a bath.

Waited till about 9++ then we went out to buy supper again. haha. KL's Supper rocks, man! Wa lao~ bought Stingray, Chicken Wings (again), Hokkien Mee, Fried Kway Teow (Dry and wet), then bought beer also. haha. Then Huixin Ma'am and Ai Suan took Root Beer.

Sir FJ himself, say wanna buy an extra can of black beer, aka ABC Beer. haha. Then after we drank the Tiger Beer each, Sir was like "Cannot drink" already. haha.

So we went back to our rooms individually and went to sleep. So sleepy and tired.


Day 3
So on the third day, woke up as usual, went for breakfast. Last chance to getting to know the battery, but didn't use the chance. haha.

Ate the more "normal stuffs" didn't take too much food this time round, but still got some leftovers. Ugly Singaporeans. Haha.

Then we went back and pack our bags and got ready to leave lo.

Then the bus brought us to buy some chocolates at dunno somewhere la. Bought some chocolates back for the Office people, then bought one "Durian Chocolate" for mum. Then a few more boxes la. Intending to give someone de. (But mum accidentally opened it and gave to her friends! the Aunties!!!) Heart pain. Tiramisu Chocolates lei......

Damn expensive can........ When I knew it, I was like........... AH~~~~~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Then Ken spent quite a bit lei. Wa lao~ we put together our purchases so can claim one free bag. but he buy so much, he himself can claim one bag already. haha.

Anyway, after we bought the chocolates, we went to the Makhota shopping centre at the Malacca. Bought some "local products" in the shopping centre. Weird right. Dunno why buy the local products at a shopping centre. Anyway, the shopping experience there was like. haha.

Another Vivo city in Malaysia, But this one is bigger. Cos got three storeys. Then saw the "battery" quite a few times. Keep bumping into her even when the place is do damn big. Then Mah bought more stuffs again. Wa lao~ buy and buy. So many things. haha.

Then we also saw the actor, Edmund Chen Zhi Cai... But the other one we saw was really shocking. We saw our secondary school friend, Mr Oh Keng Sheng!!! What the hell. He and his girlfriend is there lol. On Holiday. haha.

Whoa~ didn't know that he has a girlfriend like that. haha. Ok, I wasn't referring to anything. Didn't meet him in Singapore but still can see him in Malacca. haha. Fated.

Then Sir Derrick also bought stuffs for his wife. haha.

I also spent my last bit of money on the local products already. only 10 cent ringgit left. haha.

Then after that went to eat KFC. Ken's treat. Thanks, Ken. haha. Then after that went back to the bus and took a photo outside the Shopping centre. haha.

After that, went back to the bus and then went back to Singapore. Before that, stopped over at Yong Ping (again) for the last time. haha. Then we reached back at HQ at about 7+ or 8 + at night. haha.
