2008 is coming! =P

looking at the time now, i guess this year's count down will be done with Mr Chew again. (周公)

But it's ok. Yesterday went out with Ken and Choon Kiat to the Army market to buy another pair of combat gloves. cos the last time buy already go back and try again, then it's too big. haha. so i went back to buy another pair of M-sized gloves.

and i bought quite alot of other stuffs as well. All is for my ROC (Taiwan) trip de. going to go off to Taiwan on 13 January le. Hope everything will be fine for me. Even though it's going to be tiring and god knows how we'll suffer during that time.

But everyone is looking forward to the last four days of R&R (Rest & Relax) where we'll be free and easy walking around Taipei. haha. just thinking about it makes me smile. Taiwan girls! Here I come! haha.

Everyone's saying wanna go clubbing in Taiwan, cos it's like the highlight of the whole trip. Go and "Bua" the Taiwan girls. And sergeants also say that Taiwanese girls are more friendly than Singaporean girls. Even easier to get their numbers. haha. But coming to think about it ah, so what if we can get their numbers? It's not like we can do anything with it.

I already have a long list of items to buy for my relatives le. haha. All know I'm going to Taiwan, but I think they seem to have forgotten that I'm going there for training, not for fun!!! Nevertheless, will still buy something if I can... -_-' *suck thumb*

and I 'm going to miss the kickoff meeting for KSJ in 2008... So sian. miss this meeting then will be like a headless fly flying all over the next year. And I'm rushing my other assignment as well.

Finally, coming back to my objective for posting this blog, I just wanted to have a note written on my new year resolution for the year 2008.

Firstly, Reflections for 2007...

My internship at Keppel was a fruitful experience with them, because I have learnt alot of skills in handling both work and interpersonal relationship. Skills that are helpful both in KSJ and also my army life. I've learnt how to be a little bit more humble in the way I talk, I have also had a taste of how it feels like to work in a local MNC like Keppel, a taste of how the upper-class people of the society works and operates. Summary : Keppel = Shiok for interns.

Secondly, graduation from SP. SP is such a nice place, now that I'm looking back at the years that I've spent there. Of course, when you're a student there, you might think that the place is quite fuked up and that the facilities and everything is quite bad. But now that I've went thru' everything, I realised how fortunate I am. Every single lecturer, whether slack or fierce, have our interests at heart. Sometimes they might scold us, but at the end of the day, you will realise that they do have every right to be angry at us for not submitting our projects on time, not scoring well for our tests, etc etc.

You see. Teaching is just like preparing for fireworks at the New Year Countdown party. The teachers are the planners and we are the ones setting up the fireworks. They have worked so hard to plan for the fireworks to be ignited at different times in order for the whole event to look nice. but instead, we didn't put the fireworks properly and screw up here and there. In the end, the fireworks did not light up or did not light up at the correct time. If you were the designer and the people executing it did not do a good job, resulting in the whole event being a failure, would you be angry?

POP for S4'07 was a brilliant success and I must really say that this batch of Sec 4s have really done us proud. I know that the subsequent batches also have the potential to do it, it's just that they are not showing their best. Actually there's nothing to hold them back from performing. But I think there shouldn't be much of a problem la. Every batch also didn't really perform until when they are in about Sec 3. So I'm waiting to see what this next batch can do.

13th July 2007 was the "E-Day" the day when I got shaved, the day when I became the lowest life form in Tekong. A recruit. From enlistment till now, I feel that I have truly grown up. I have learnt that nothing is more important in life, other than our loved ones. and by that I mean everyone around you whom you love, be it the boyfriend or girlfriend, parents who nag at you, siblings who fight with you, even the neighbours whom you haven't spoke too in a million years. You will realise how precious it is to be able to just sit in front of the TV on your sofa, munching away on your Potato Chips.

next up, is my Baby in KSJ. The FAK's finally one year old after pushing out 3 editions and I must thank everyone in the Newsletter committee for their hard work and I have said this a thousand times and I couldn't emphasise it enough that it is virtually impossible to have done all these without the help of all those in the committee.

My affair was a short-lived one and I experienced it first hand after I entered army. Army really kills relationships. So please. Either get attached long way before army (so ur relationship is strong enough to survie thru' army), or get attached after army, so all you have to suffer is from the separation during reservist training.

Preparations for KSJ's 10th Anniversary is well on the way. I hope everything will go smoothly and that the event will be a successful one.

Resolution for 2007.

1. Maintain weight at 68kg (max.)
2. Maintain good temper thru'out army.
3. Make more friends.
4. End up in BMTC as instructor.
5. Spend more time with family.
6. Spend more time with friends.
7. Find a special someone whom I can at least talk to when I'm feeling down.
8. Meet up with my long-lost friends.
9. Stay Smoke-free. (ie. don't get tempted to smoke)
10. Do my best for KSJ.

Zone Presentation Parade cum Ceremony 2007

Well, I booked out at about 11.30, then I had a mad rush trying to catch the bus and the train and walked home double quick time before i finally reached home at about 12.

In less than an hour's time, i finished bathing, packing and unpacked my stuffs for washing before i took my full-U and rushed out to pass two sets of uniforms to my mum's friend to sew on the corporal rank for me. (oh yes, I'm already corporal, by the way.) then by 12.45, I was already on the train, heading towards CCK.

Finally by 1 o'clock, I reached but ken was still at home! Hai~ Rush to wait, wait to rush. Ken has got the "Army Syndrome". Bo bian. Suck thumb and waited. Then he finally came and we had lunch before we met Rachel, Sok Ting and Sze Him (She's late!). Then luckily got Rachel's Dad drove us to Junction 8 and we walked to Catholic High. haha. Quite up lei, that school.

Then we observed the parade rehearsal and the only conclusions we came to was "wa kao~ the parade is fucked up". haha. Ok la, maybe it wasn't very bad, but it was bad. Everything seemed so impromptu and the GOH didn't even know where to stop or what. Then the parade Sergeant Major also like figure head. By right Parade Sergeant major should be the one arranging and running the show ma. Why just stood there and do nothing. Stupid.

Anyway, the final parade finally started and then the guests came and as usual, all parades organised by them has to have a cock-up somewhere and it did happened.

Then after that went to the canteen for dinner, there was not enough food, insufficient utensils and drinks had long ran out. The worst thing was there were feces on the ground!!!! I can't believe it.

And the presentation ceremony took place in their hall. Whoa! The Catholic High hall is quite up one lei. CK say that air-con was contributed by the parent's support group de lei. Kranji de PSG is so "cui" one lo. Our fans can only spray mist. Somemore sometimes cock-up will spray water and wet everyone. haha.

The presentation didn't have much things lo, just the usual prize presentation, photo slideshow on the pictures submitted by the various Corps and the Cambodia Humanitarian trips. But there was no actual sharing of experiences from any of the volunteers who went there. What a waste.

Anyway, everything finally ended at about 9+ and we went to Junction 8 for further dinner. and we realised that we forgot the cake that Mah bought! but luckily Ai Suan and Xinyan was still in school. haha. and I think it was the alcohol that was added in the dish (I order Terriyaki Chicken! haha.), then i became a bit high. haha.

Then we took out the cake that Mah bought for Kenneth and cut it and shared it. hehe. (We left four pieces of cake for Rachel and her family!) haha.

On the way back (Rachel's Dad has very kindly agreed to send us back to CCK!), we act gay and play a fool behind the lorry. haha. then we took a few stupid pictures as well, and I think we frightened uncle with the flash from the camera. haha. Maybe he thought he was speeding. =P

Anyway, I tried wearing the cap that was the door gift given la. And dunno why it became that Mah say I wore it because I was looking at Kailing's skirt! haha. WTF. come on la. wa piang ey. what a thing to say in front of so many people! Paiseh sia.

But the day ended quite well la. at least we enjoyed ourselves, even though we weren't really happy with the parade thing. haha. After everything yesterday, I sent out and Email about the areas to take note to everyone in the committee.

Aside from this, Sir Derrick was saying that he want to buy a pace stick. haha. good la. CWO must have a pace stick de ma! hehe..
